National Youth Study
Third Wave Telephone Survey Has Been Completed!
A third round of the National Youth Study telephone survey with our participants started in September 2007. We completed the interviewing in April of 2008 with almost 80% of our original survey participants! We'd like to send a heartfelt THANK YOU to all of you who took the time to complete the telephone survey. The NYS is a success due to your continued participation. We couldn't do it without you!
The National Youth Study is a landmark research study based at the
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and at the University of
Notre Dame analyzing the experiences and values of Americans from youth
into young adulthood. Click on the links to the left to learn more
about the study, our participants, and some preliminary results from
the research in which you have been a participant.
This research project is valuable in that it's findings contribute to the overall understanding of the lives of young adults in America today. One of the most important aspects of our research project is that we follow how your lives change over time - this is a longitudinal study. Therefore, it is VERY important that we be able to get in touch with you when the time comes for another round of phone surveys. If you move or change your phone number, please DON'T FORGET TO UPDATE YOUR CONTACT INFORMATION WITH US. You can update your information by clicking on the 'Update Your Contact Information' link to the left.
You are a part of the National Youth Study if you participated in the first telephone survey, conducted between July 2002 and March 2003. During the summer and fall of 2005, the second telephone survey was conducted, and between September 2007 and April 2009 we fielded the third wave of the phone survey.
